The story of Robin Hood has been told many times and over many films. The newest adaptation by Lions Gate will star Taron Egerton and Jamie Foxx and we must say, it looks pretty good and nothing like the Robin Hood films we’ve come to know before this one! This version seems darker and edgier and good old Leo DiCaprio is an executive producer. The film is directed by Paul Feig and while the movie has been pushed back on its theatrical release a couple times, the first trailer was released and we want to know what you think. Too much CGI? Not enough?

Fans may know Taron Egerton from the Kingsman films or Eddie the Eagle and he’s looking at starring in another potential franchise should this film do well at the box office. Egerton is more than capable of pulling off the character considering the kind of stunts he’s used to doing and with a great supporting cast around him (including Jamie Foxx and Ben Mendelsohn), this could be a huge film.

Comments on the video have ranged from the film looking like another version of Assassin’s Creed or King Arthur to the film looking like it could be better than any of the incarnations of the story that came before it.

What seems most interesting here is how the film shows this particular Robin Hood character is playing both sides of the system, having a role in the kingdom but also fighting for the poor. Some are disappointed that the first trailer spoiled who Robin Hood is. Our argument is that you’ probably have to be an idiot not to already know.

Will you see this movie? Or, is it a throwaway film that should have been left alone years ago. It’s got the right people. It has to be good, doesn’t it?
