In today’s NHL rumors via The Hockey Writers, there are updates on Cam Talbot, the Calgary Flames search for a goaltender, Jakob Silfverberg and the Anaheim Ducks and Edmonton’s stance on forward Jesse Puljujarvi.
Update on Cam Talbot Trade
The update on Cam Talbot leaving Edmonton is that the Flyers and Oilers continue to talk but any trade is in a “holding pattern.” Darren Dreger tweeted that the two sides are trying to work out some kinks to the trade.
Oilers and Flyers in a holding pattern on Cam Talbot trade. As mentioned on Insider Trading last night, Anthony Stolarz likely in the return if they close the deal. RFA goalie end of the year.

Rumors now is that Anthony Stolarz is the coming back to the Oilers which offers Edmonton a backup goalie and cap space they badly need.
Flames Looking for Goaltending
It appears the Calgary Flames might be in the market for a netminder as TSN reports that the team has kicked tires on Detroit Red Wings Jimmy Howard.

TSN hockey analyst Bob McKenzie said that there has been some debate and wonders if the team might be better suited to go after a guy like Jonathan Quick out of Los Angeles.
Jakob Silfverberg Extension Numbers
Jonathan Davis posted a series of tweets talking about the situation in Anaheim with Jakob Silfverberg. He reports the Ducks are looking at a four-year deal and Silfverberg is looking for at least a five-year deal. Should Silfverberg be adamant about the fifth year, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Ducks traded him at the deadline.
Oilers Asking a Lot for Puljujarvi
Darren Dreger was on Edmonton’s TSN 1260 and said there is a trade market out there for forward Jesse Puljujarvi but the Oilers are asking a lot for him. He also said he doesn’t get the sense that Puljujarvi wants to go down to Bakersfield and join the AHL team.
Dreger believes it’s time the Oilers decide what their plan is with this player and if they aren’t going to give him every opportunity to succeed, to really consider moving him at the trade deadline.
